AVO RALLY TEAM

.

Here at AVO we are proud of the fact that when we develop new product we make sure it is fully tested before being released for sale, we are able to do this via our own rally team which is made up of key members of staff from the AVO factory and sales department. Specialising in the world of rallying this gives us an ideal platform to test , develop and promote our range of competition units, the experience we gain here also filters down through to our help improve our existing road applications.

UNIVERSAL MONOTUBE

Dimensions and prices of our Universal Mono-tube range have been added in the Motorsport section here..
This range includes Coil over and telescopic dampers available in Single, Double or Triple adjustable.

MAUGER SUPPORT

AVO UK is supporting MK2 Escort driver Simon Mauger.
Simon is running with our latest developed mono tube competition car suspension, which
is three way adjustable. He has used the system with great success on three events already, having claimed two victories and a third position.
"The car feels much more stable and planted to the road with the AVO suspension," Mauger admitted. "It gives you more confidence to push on. We hope to complete the full UK tarmac series and some selected Irish events this season."

Mauger wins Jersey rally

Simon Mauger and Brian Cammack won the 2010 Paperclix Jersey rally, 38.5 seconds behind was Steve Leonard and Sion Humphreys. Peter Lloyd and Nicky Grist took 3rd place in Peter's 2010 Subaru S14 WRC, 58.2 seconds off the leaders!

The Jersey rally is notoriously tough with 31 stages run over 2 days including night stages. With dry weather (for a change) Simon took the lead straight away posting the fastest times in 6 of the 8 opening afternoon stages. The teamwork between Simon and Brian really came into play in the night stages. They took 1st in all 4 evening stages gaining a further 34 seconds on the nearest car. Unfortunately the remaining 3 night stages had to be cancelled or their lead may have been greater. However a solid performance meant they held the lead throughout to win outright.

A brilliant end to the season!

LATEST NEWS!

Simon Mauger was delighted to be voted the UK's Number 1 Asphalt driver of 2010 by the MOTORSPORT NEWS. "It meant a lot to me to be recognised in this way by the Motorsport News and has topped off what has been a brilliant year. Motorsport News is still a must have read for anyone involved in the sport, so this has got to be one of the highlights of my Rally career but I couldn't have acheived this without the help and support of everyone who has been involved with the team so thanks again to them", said Simon.

NEW FIAT 500 / ABARTH KIT

.

FIAT 500 + ABARTH GTX2500

Designed using mono tube and twin tube damper technology, the GTX2500 kit is suited to fast road and full race / track day use.
Mono tube technology is used in the front suspension where strength and rigidity is needed, this type of unit also gives you much more control and accuracy over the shock absorbers damping characteristics . Rear units are of the more traditional twin tube design due to lack of available space and the fact the suspension system design does not incure much side loading.
Springs have been specifically designed to suit both road and track day use and give maximum travel for their desired rate.

AVO to sponsor Promenade Stages Rally

.
NEW SPONSOR SECURED FOR THE PROMENADE STAGES RALLY
Wallasey Motor Club, organisers of the Promenade Stages Rally have announced that they have secured AVO Performance Suspension as their new sponsor for this year’s rally.
Nigel Killerby AVO’s Managing Director commented “We are very pleased to be part of this year’s Promenade Stages Rally particularly as the rally is celebrating its 30th Anniversary. We have competed on the rally before and have really enjoyed the unique location of the closed roads on the sea front at New Brighton. Commercially this provides a fantastic opportunity to promote our competition and performance suspension kits to both fellow competitors as well as the large number of spectators that this rally always attracts. “

This year, to celebrate the rally’s 30th anniversary the event will run a Super Special Stage on Kings Parade, New Brighton on the Friday evening prior to the traditional Rally that runs on the Saturday.

It is believed that this is the first time in the UK that this style of event has been run at both clubman level and on closed public roads.
The Promenade Stages Rally is on the 9th and 10th September 2011, for further information and regulations visit the Wallasey Motor Clubs website, www.wallaseymc.com
